Retail Development Update – ‘Mainstreet at Pegasus’27/08/2014 - Retail & Commercial
Subdivision and Land use consents relating to this new retail precinct were lodged with Waimakariri District Council on 27 May 2014 and issued on Tuesday 15 July 2014.
Building consent documentation is underway for the first stages and this is expected to be lodged mid-September 2014. Once building consent is issued the developers will confirm a project contractor following which construction can commence, planned for 4th Quarter 2014. Once building consent is lodged and reviewed by council an announcement regarding the construction timetable can be made.
Buchan Group are the Architects working on this retail development. Earlier this year World Architecture Magazine ranked Buchan Group as one of the top 5 practices worldwide in retail design.
Commercial commitments with tenants for the first stage are complete, which is building CR1 on the development plan. Initial tenant mix includes food & beverage, beauty and professional services.
A number of town centre land sales have been completed for additional business use including a full medical centre, dentist practice and a second day-care facility. The developers continue to work through commercial terms with further tenants as well as purchasers for additional land within the town centre.
