A beautiful sunny Saturday morning graced the opening of the “Win A Home” competition in Pegasus Town where more than 4,000 people walked through the prize home valued at $550,000.

Queues of people where lined up before the doors opened at 11am, excited for the opportunity to be in the running to own their own home and live in Pegasus Town.

“Pegasus Town has a lot to offer – thriving family-friendly neighbourhoods with a strong sense of community, a stunning natural landscape, and fantastic public parks, reserves and waterways,” says David Martin, Pegasus Town spokesperson. “We’re proud of what has been achieved so far and are delighted that we can celebrate that achievement by offering someone the chance to win a brand new home at Pegasus.”

Rachel Johnston from North Canterbury was the 1000th person to view the home on Saturday. Rachel, who visited the house with her partner Shaun Coakley and their 11-month-old daughter Sophia, said Pegasus could be the perfect place to raise their family. “Winning this home would give us a step up. It would be fantastic and save us so much money,” says Rachel.

To enter the draw, people need to visit 12 Tiritiri Moana Drive at Pegasus Town between advertised open times, pick up a competition ticket containing a unique entry code, and visit www.winahome.co.nz to enter that code.

The competition is open to all New Zealand residents aged over 16, and will run for six months.

The winner will be drawn in February, 2016.
